Hyaluronic Fillers: Voluma, Juvederm, Restylane & Restylane Lyft Information
What are hyaluronic acid fillers? Voluma, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, Restylane and Restylane Lyft are sterile gels, consisting of synthetic stabilized hyaluronic acid (HAs), which is a natural sugar found in skin. Your provider will help you decide which product would be best for you.
Voluma is the newest Juvederm HA product. It restores lost facial volume, particularly in the upper lateral cheek, provides lift, and corrects deeper folds.
Restylane Lyft. It restores lost facial volume, particularly in the upper lateral cheek, provides lift, and corrects deeper folds. Formerly known as Perlane. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC This product fills moderate lines, finer lines and mild to moderate volume loss correction. It can be used in the lips.
Restylane and Juvederm Ultra XC are softer HAs. Used for finer lines, mild volume correction and where a softer contour is needed, like the lips.
All of these HAs are combined with a numbing agent (Lidocaine) for greater comfort. Be sure to tell us if you have a Lidocaine allergy.
How long do these fillers last? Filler companies, in their marketing materials, give the time it lasts from full to zero. Areas that can be improved: Our Seattle dermal fillers are used to treat wrinkles, lines, and restore facial volume. They can soften the lines around the mouth and chin. They can also be used to help improve some acne scars and under eye hollowness. The softer fillers are used in the lips for rehydration, to add fullness, define the borders, or correct upper lip lines. The thicker fillers help provide some lift to redefine cheek bones and the jawline. Lastly, fillers can also be injected into the backs of the hands to plump up the skin for a more youthful appearance. Some of these uses are “off-label” and should be done by experts only.
Will there be any discomfort with my injection? We use a topical skin anesthetic to make you comfortable during the injection of dermal fillers in Seattle. The cream not only makes you more comfortable, it decreases the chance of bruising by constricting blood vessels temporarily. If needed, a dental block may be done. To minimize your chances of bruising we advise you please follow our bruise prevention protocol.
Who should NOT use this product? Do not use Voluma, Juvederm, Restylane or Restylane Lyft if you are allergic to it, pregnant, breastfeeding or bruise extremely easily.
