Dr. Irwin discusses Sculptra

Dr. Irwin has studied Sculptra technique with the doctor and researcher who pioneered Sculptra in Europe.

Dr. Irwin is one of the best and most experienced Sculptra injectors not just in Seattle but on the West Coast.

Sculptra

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injection of synthetic lactic acid that fills out wrinkles or hollow areas of the face, like your cheeks or eyes.  It jump-starts the tissue to produce natural collagen, which in turn restores that softness and suppleness of younger skin.

How is Sculptra given?

Dr. Irwin usually injects Sculptra every 4 to 6 weeks for a total of 3 to 6 treatments, depending on your face and goals.  Sculptra takes at least 4 weeks to form enough collagen for a visible result.

How long does it last?

Your natural collagen growth continues after your initial treatments.  The Sculptra product itself disappears very gradually by action of your own enzymes.  We recommend maintenance treatments once a year after your initial treatments to keep your collagen growing.

Is it safe?

Sculptra has been used outside the U.S. since 1999 in over 150,000 patients.  It is approved by the FDA in the U.S. for cosmetic restoration of fat loss.

Dr. Irwin is one of the most experienced Sculptra injectors both in Seattle and on the West coast.  Safety and results are her keynotes.  She first investigated Sculptra at the Paris Conference on Aging Skin in January of 2005.  She researched the safety profile of Sculptra extensively, communicating with the medical director of the Sculptra manufacturer.  She trained in injection technique with Dr. Vleggar of Switzerland, who has performed over 3,000 Sculptra injections.  Dr. Irwin has done hundreds of Sculptra injections and herself performs all of the Sculptra injections at her dermatology office in Seattle, Madison Skin & Laser Center.

How much does it cost?

Sculptra costs between $450 and $1600 per treatment, depending on the amount used.  The most common charge is in the range of $1,100 per treatment.  A consultation is required before treatment.  Dr. Irwin provides all Sculptra treatments at her beautiful and private office in Seattle.
